About our speakers

Corey Fowler
Associate Director, Global Clinical Development in CNS and Digital Medicine
Otsuka Pharmaceuticals

An experienced innovator specializing in digital medicines, Corey has experience in basic, translational, and clinical sciences with a doctorate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of North Carolina.

Corey has worked in the clinical research industry for more than 10 years with experience in the concept and design, clinical operations, and ethics and regulatory oversight of clinical research studies for phases I-IV. He now focuses his time on designing and implementing digital medicine strategies at the forefront of pharmaceutical development.

Prior to joining Otsuka in 2016, Corey served in Clinical Scientist, Clinical Development, Program Management, Project Management, Business Development and Regulatory Affairs roles spanning industry and academia. Presently, he serves as Associate Director in Global Clinical Development in CNS and Digital Medicine at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals & Development Corporation.

 

Shwen Gwee
General Manager, Digital Accelerator
Novartis

A recognized pioneer in digital strategy and innovation within the biopharma industry, Shwen currently serves as General Manager of the Novartis Digital Accelerator program and was formerly Head of Digital Strategy for Global Clinical Operations at Biogen. Shwen drives innovative digital approaches to engage customers and enhance clinical trial recruitment and retention.

Shwen also sits on various advisory boards, including: Google (Healthcare), SXSW (Health), MM&M Healthcare Transformers, Doximity, and the Digital Health Coalition. Shwen is also very involved in the digital health start-up community and organizes start-up bootcamps, runs start-up pitch contests and plays an active role running healthcare hackathons around the world as part of the MIT Hacking Medicine team.

 

Sylvain Piquet
Chief Operating Officer
Peak Labs

Sylvain is a seasoned international technology business leader, with a focus on operations, business development and digital marketing.

He has 15 years’ experience in digital advertising and now heads up the operations at Peak Labs, combining neuroscience and technology to achieve optimum user engagement.

 

Jenny Barnett
Chief Scientific Officer
Cambridge Cognition

Named one of the 40 most influential Healthcare Technology Transformers in 2017, Jenny has led a number of innovative digital health projects in clinical trials and healthcare, helping to reshape the way technology is used to assess and monitor brain health.

Jenny has an MA in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University, a PhD in psychiatric epidemiology from the University of Cambridge, and has completed post-doctoral work at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT as well as being the author of over 50 academic publications.
